E-cooperatives.com is a web-based marketing portal maintained by the National Farmers Union and connects consumers with America's family farmers, ranchers, co-ops and other rural businesses. The site allows users to locate and buy, or sell, niche goods and services and has links to the listed businesses.

Producers and rural business owners submit their company and product information using an electronic form on the "List Your Business" page. There is an annual fee for sellers to be listed, which is paid when companies submit and edit their information. Sellers are able to edit their information any time on their own personal administration page.

Consumers search the database free to locate businesses and find food products and services. By entering keywords or identifying food types, region, growing practices and other production criteria, various businesses and their products can be found including organic, hormone free, pesticide free, u-pick farms and much more.

NFU promotes e-commerce and generates traffic to the participating farm, co-op and rural businesses through special notices, seasonal announcements, and promotions to Farmers Union members and other consumers. In addition, sellers continue to spread the word about the benefits of being listed on the site including being a partner with NFU and others rural businesses in supporting the produce and communities in rural America.
